Robert Rust Foods is Grandpa Approved. We make food with quality you can trust.
Robert Rust sold hot dogs out of a scooter back in 1947. Seventy-five years later, his grandson restored the scooter and started selling burritos. Making quality products is our way of honoring his life.
We cherish our history, but the scooter is only part of our story.
We sell to 40+ Mom & Pops, Co-ops, and Coffee Shops. We serve retail and food service with high quality food at good prices. Contact us for information about how to purchase.
Handmade
The Problem: Industrial machines require fillings to be pumpable pastes. That’s why most frozen burritos are mushy.
Our Fix: We hand-roll every single burrito. This allows us to use oven roasted chicken, chunky vegetables, and real black beans. You can actually see what you’re eating.
No Plastic
The Problem: The world doesn’t need more plastic wrappers overflowing the landfills.
Our Fix: We use a dual-layer system: compostable parchment paper for the microwave, and recyclable foil for the oven. It’s harder to pack, but it cooks better and leaves no trace.
No Secrets
The Problem: “Natural flavors” and preservatives you can’t pronounce.
Our Fix: Our ingredient label reads like a grocery list. Eggs. Slow-cooked meats. Real cheese. Nutritious veggies. If Grandpa wouldn’t recognize it, we don’t use it.
We aren’t just trying to sell burritos. We are trying to build a different kind of company. Internally, these three goals guide every decision we make:
1. Earn the First Michelin Star for Frozen Food
Because convenience shouldn’t mean compromising on culinary excellence.
2. Become the Best Workplace on Earth
Manufacturing jobs can be grueling. We are building a culture where people build careers, not just assemble widgets.
3. Sell a Net Carbon Negative Product
We don’t just want to be “neutral.” We want the act of buying our food to be better for the planet than the alternative.
