Our family history.

Bob Rust bought the scooter back in the late ’40s and sold hot dogs in Shelby, NC. Fast forward 75 years and his grandson brought it back to life to sell burritos. We named the company Robert Rust Foods to honor the legacy of our grandpa, who was an honest, loving, and caring man who lived to serve others.

We still sell ready to eat burritos at farmers markets, bars, and breweries, but the company has grown to so much more than that.

Our burritos are cooked, rolled, and wrapped by people. Because each step is performed by real humans, we feature big, chunky ingredients, hand-made flour tortillas, and attentive care throughout the whole process. You'll taste the difference.

We’re expanding quickly across NC. If you’re in the Triad or Triangle, you can find our frozen burritos and bowls at a local independent grocery store or coop. Click “Locate” in the main menu to find us. If we’re not in a store near you, let your store know you’d like to see us there! In the meantime, you can order directly from us, shipped to your door.

Frequently asked questions

Wait, I thought you were a food truck?

That’s how we started, and we still sell hot food from the scooter at Cobblestone Farmer’s Markets and various pop-ups around town. We’re available for weddings and other special occasions, too!

Do you ship nationally?

No, unfortunately. We are currently limited to NC, but we will sell nationally soon.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! Shipping is free for all orders.

Do you make special orders?

We’re happy to make you a special order if we can. We frequently make orders with no cheese, no beans, or no cabbage, for example. The minimum order quantity for special orders is 1 case. Some special orders aren’t feasible, but please ask and we’ll do what we can to make it happen!
